Marseille forward Loic Remy is expected complete his move to Queens Park Rangers tomorrow.
Remy had been expected to
hold talks with Newcastle
United, after the Magpies'
bid for the 26-year-old was
accepted by the Ligue 1 outfit
over the weekend.
However, the player is
believed to favour a move to
London and, according to Sky
Sports News, he is due to
undergo a medical at Loftus
Road on Tuesday morning.
Remy has scored just one
goal in 14 league
appearances this season.

Rafael Benitez says the arrival of Demba Ba will make Fernando Torres a better player
Rafael Benitez has said the
arrival of Demba Ba will help
make Chelsea striker
Fernando Torres a better
player.
The Spain international, who
is widely regarded as failing
to live up to his £50m price
tag, was the Blues' first-
choice striker until Ba's
£7.5m switch from Newcastle
last week.
While Torres remained on the
bench for Saturday's 5-1 third
round FA Cup win over
Southampton, the newly-
signed 27-year-old made
immediate impact, scoring
twice on his debut.
"Ba coming will be better for
Torres, 100 per cent," interim
Chelsea manager Benitez
said. "Not many players play
every game in a top side, as
he has had to, and now it will
be positive for both of them.
"They will be fitter, maybe
they will score more goals
because they will have more
chances and will be in better
positions.
"Fernando is an experienced
player and he knows
football. We have spoken to
both of them and they each
know the role of the other,
that they'll have a lot of
games and will have a big
part to play.
"Every session I can see
Fernando is training well and
trying to improve. Even when
he's not scoring, he's
working hard and doing
things for the team.
"We have tried to fix things
to improve his strength, a
specific programme. If you
do that, normally he can be
quicker. It takes time, and I
think it's improving.
"He's a bit quicker, but the
biggest problem was he was
playing too many games.
Especially against QPR, some
players were a bit tired, had
too much fatigue. But having
both Torres and Ba means
both can do well."
Torres could return to the
Chelsea line up for the
Capital One Cup semi-final
against Swansea on
Wednesday, with Petr Cech,
John Terry, John Obi Mikel
and Victor Moses all
remaining on the sidelines.
The Stamford Bridge tie kicks
off a busy period for
Benitez's men, with eight
games in 25 days to contend.
"When you are a top side you
know you have to play twice
a week, but because of Japan
and the time we had to go
there, we have been playing
a lot of games," Benitez said.
"It's difficult for us to plan
and prepare training
sessions. Monday's was
another light session and you
can't do everything you want
to do.
"We have to try to do tactical
adjustments in every session,
so it's quite complicated, but
in a top side it has to be like
this."
And Benitez has also warned
fans of changes to the squad,
refusing to rule out the
possibility that popular
players could leave the club.
"I think it's always easy to
talk about the legends, and
you have to have a lot of
respect for them because
what they've achieved for
this club has been fantastic,"
Benitez added.
"But you have to have new
players - it could be English
or foreign, it doesn't matter -
and carry on winning games.
"That's what the fans are
expecting. Everyone knows
the legends have been here
and what they have achieved,
but you have to see new
players coming. It's part of
life.
"You have good memories
and you respect people who
achieve something for a club.
That's very positive.
"But, at the same time, you
have to think about the
future. You cannot be
waiting.
"You have to move forward,
bring in new players and at
the same time try and bring
the best out of those you
have. You have to use their
experience, too."

Chelsea Eyes another Brazilian star
Chelsea agree deal for
future Brazilian superstar
The Brazilian recently
confirmed he was in talks
with the West London side
after they agreed a fee with
the Ukrainian club thought to
be in the region of £11
million.
Taison has been playing his
football in
Ukraine for the
last two years after he left
his home land,
Brazil , in 2010.
He played 136 games for the
Brazilian club, Internacional,
with 20 goals before a more
prolific spell at Metalist
Kharkiv; 13 goals in 57 games.
He becomes the latest
Brazilian sensation to join
the
Champions League
holders following the arrival
of Oscar last summer.
Chelsea have also been long
term hunters of another
Brazilian wonder kid,
Neymar.
Taison is one of the most
versatile attacking players
that Chelsea could have
targeted as he can play down
either wing, in a central
attacking position or up front
as a main striker. It is a
massive giveaway sign that
Chelsea are looking to
maintain their style of
flooding their attack with
small play makers who are
all extremely talented on the
ball.
This is a move which has
been criticised due to the
physical nature of the
Premier League but a tactic
which more and more top
European sides are mirroring,
based on the successful
Barcelona side of the last
few years.
Despite his impressive career
records at Internacional and
Metalist Kharkiv, he is yet to
make his debut for the
Brazilian national team.
If the fee being mentioned in
latest reports is accurate
then it will mean Metalist are
set to make a profit of £9
million plus add-ons having
originally signed the player
for just under €3 million
(roughly £2.43 million).
If the deal goes through
without a hitch then Taison
will become Chelsea’s
second January signing
following Demba Ba from
Newcastle United .

I'll be back to best
Steven Gerrard is confident he
will soon return to the form of
his former self after a
rollercoaster season so far
with Liverpool.
The Anfield and England
captain has had a mixed
campaign after a combination
of injuries and tactical
reshuffles under club boss
Brendan Rodgers have forced
him into different roles and
seen him score just five goals.
But, going into the second
half of 2012/13, 32-year-old
Gerrard is feeling good about
himself and Liverpool's
prospects for the future ahead
of facing Manchester United
at the weekend.
He told the official Liverpool
FC magazine: "I've had mixed
experiences this season. I've
passed some unbelievable
landmarks for club and
country, getting to the 600-
games mark and winning my
100th cap for England.
"But, with the slow start we
made and being where we
have in the league, it's been a
bit mixed for me.
"There's my form as well. I've
played well in some games
but I've been disappointed
with myself in others and I'm
not happy with my goal tally
at the moment.
"People's opinions,
perceptions and the way they
judge you changes when you
get a goal.
"I think my performances are
getting closer to where I want
them to be so if I can add
goals to those performances,
then maybe people will start
saying the old Steven Gerrard
is back.
"I don't think the manager has
asked me to do anything
different in terms of the way
he wants to me to perform.
"But because of certain
injuries, situations that have
happened to the team and
formations that we've played,
I've naturally played a little
bit deeper.
"I've maybe gone into
protection mode rather than
playing the old Steven Gerrard
way with the shackles off and
going for the jugular."
